Green Governance in Corporations

Author(s) Publication date
Alea FAIRCHILD
31/07/2008

In this paper, we discuss the conceptual issues involved as corporations seek to institutionalize sustainable development concepts and practices into the center of executive decision-making. The conceptual issues examined in the dynamics of corporate green governance are: the dynamics of transforming a latent policy paradigm into an operational one which conforms with corporate strategy; the organizational and concrete resource base needed for environment departments to be a functioning part of corporate decision making; and the importance of viable corporate policy communities to sustain new paradigms and make them workable in a tactical manner.
