iPad - is just the design innovative?

When Apple unveiled its iPad this week, analysts have had mixed responses on first year revenue sales.  Is this just due to the product itself, or is the value chain part of the concern?  Is it the lack of camera, the challenge of multitasking, or  how/when Apple releases it through its global Apple distribution network?

Apple is finally using the processor design talent they acquired with PA Semi. This custom system-on-a-chip inside the iPad shows Apple controlling a key technology that enables them to continue innovating at a pace that makes sense for Apple. The iPad, like the original iPhone, is just the first of a class of devices that are potentially disruptive. If Apple believes they can out-innovate  Intel or AMD for ultra-low power, high-performance processors,  no matter who wins the race, customers benefit.
